The Mid-Atlantic Clean Hydrogen Hub is driving the future of clean energy in the Mid-Atlantic region, creating new opportunities for businesses, suppliers, and innovators to play a role in the clean hydrogen economy. As we expand our infrastructure and develop critical projects, we invite qualified organizations to participate in the below-listed opportunities.
MACH2 is seeking to add production projects to its current portfolio that demonstrate alignment with the vision, values, and goals outlined above. This Request for Information (RFI) is an opportunity for new and existing partners to showcase transformative hydrogen projects aligned with the Department of Energy’s goals for a clean hydrogen economy and indicate their interest in partnering with the Hub. In the coming months, this RFI will be followed by a formal Request for Proposals (RFP) for projects wishing to seek federal funding to offset the cost of becoming a hydrogen producer with federal DOE funding.
Update for February 6, 2026:
MACH2 is pleased to share the consolidated table of questions submitted. In some cases, similar questions have been combined and edited for clarity. We have been working closely with our offtake partner to review and address all submissions. However, due to the volume of questions and the level of detail required, we need additional time to finalize our responses. MACH2 will post responses on Friday, February 20, 2026. We are also extending the deadline for RFI submissions to Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Thank you for your continued interest in MACH2.
Update for February 20, 2026:
MACH2 is pleased to share responses to questions submitted as part of this RFI. Interested parties are reminded that RFI submissions are due by Wednesday March 4, 2026. We appreciate your continued interest in engagement with MACH2.
Update for February 27, 2026:
An additional question and answer has been posted for the review of parties interested in the RFI.
Question: Can MACH2 share the length of the pipeline under consideration for this project? Given that the length of pipeline will add to the cost of delivered hydrogen, this will help us estimate our project financials.
Answer: MACH2 is unable to provide guidance on this topic, as the offtaker has elected to remain anonymous at this time. However, if interested parties can provide an estimate for cost per mile, that will be considered responsive for the purposes of this RFI.
As a reminder, respondents who are down-selected to the RFP will learn the exact location of the offtaker. You will have an opportunity at that time to refine any estimates submitted in your RFI response.
This RFI is for organizations that wish to procure Hydrogen for use in their operations. MACH2 is seeking to identify end-use and off-take projects (i.e. customers / consumers of hydrogen) that demonstrate alignment with the vision, values, and goals outlined above. This Request for Information (RFI) is an opportunity for new and existing partners to showcase transformative hydrogen projects aligned with the Department of Energy’s goals for a clean hydrogen economy and indicate their interest in partnering with the Hub.
Please also see the addendum to the RFI, which updates the Submission timeline.
